Architect Profile: Shaun Amos

Sap Architecture’s Director, Shaun Amos, is a dedicated family man who finds joy in spending quality time with his loved ones. Whether it's camping in the great outdoors, water skiing, or cheering on his favourite footy team, Shaun embraces every opportunity to create lasting memories with his family. His passion for these activities not only brings him immense happiness but also strengthens the bond he shares with his family and friends.

Shaun knew he wanted to become an Architect from a young age and began on the pursuit of his passion by first studying Building Design at TAFE which then led to gaining employment as a draftsperson between 2012 - 2013.

After deciding to further his studies, he moved to Geelong to complete his undergraduate and masters degree at Deakin University. During his studies, he was fortunate enough to gain employment with an Architecture studio in Geelong. During the time here, he worked across a wide range of project sectors including high-end residential, multi-residential, commercial, and education.

To gain exposure to larger projects and to gain more experience, Shaun took an opportunity to work for Detail 3 in Melbourne from 2019 - 2020. This business acted as a contractor agency, where it’s employees were seconded to architecture firms to provide additional support and resources on projects. During his time at Detail 3, he worked in highly involved roles at Jackson Clements Burrows, Kosloff Architecture, Kerstin Thompson Architects, and Lyons Architecture.

Shaun then took on a full time role at WMK Architecture Melbourne in late 2020. During this time, Shaun was able to take on lead roles for projects including a community centre, 5 storey office building, 7 storey apartment building, and 20 storey office tower, among many others.

With a wealth of experience and industry knowledge, Shaun made the decision to transition Sap Architecture from part-time to full-time in September 2022. Since then, Sap Architecture has successfully undertaken numerous projects, building a strong reputation for delivering exceptional results to our clients.

Shaun's primary focus is to create functional and inspiring spaces that enhance the quality of people's lives. This encompasses not only residential properties but also the various buildings we interact with on a daily basis. Given that the average Australian spends around 90% of their time indoors, Shaun, as an Architect, recognizes the responsibility to design environments that promote well-being and comfort for all individuals.
